Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that on June 24, Deputy Ryan Watson was dispatched to an area on Coweta Falls Road after a concerned citizen reported unusual odors possibly consistent with methamphetamine manufacturing.
Dep. Watson arrived at the area and was able to detect the chemical odor. Officers from the Sheriff’s Dept. and the 14th Judicial Drug Task Force were sent to the location to further investigate. The investigation led officers to a residence on Coweta Falls Road where several items of meth lab trash were found near the residence. A search produced several items of paraphernalia used to manufacture methamphetamine along with several containers of chemicals also used in the manufacture of the drug.
A DEA disposal team was called in from out of town to the location and disposed of the chemical items.
As a result of this search and investigation, Christopher Herron, age 36, was arrested and has been charged with manufacturing a controlled substance – Meth. At the time of this release the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are anticipated.
Sheriff Hickman would like to personally thank and commend the concerned citizen who initially made the report that led to discovery and disposal of this meth lab.
