Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that on Tuesday, June 7th, 2011, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division was notified by the Diamond City Police Chief Don Bennett, about a drug arrest made by his department. Chief Bennett had gone to a residence in Diamond City to locate a female on an outstanding warrant. Chief Bennett went to the residence where he believed the female, Candy Eldridge, age 31 and Ernest Elliott, age 37 answers the door and tells Chief Bennett he does not know the female he is looking for.
Chief Bennett locates Eldridge hiding under the kitchen table inside the residence and places her under arrest for the warrant. During the arrest Chief Bennett notices Elliot with a small black nylon bag he is trying to throw away from himself. Chief Bennett arrests Elliott for Hindering Apprehension and discovers a white powder in the bag.
Narcotics Investigators from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office field tested the substance and determined there was approximately 1.5 ounces of Cocaine inside the black nylon bag. Other items of drug paraphernalia were also located in the bag along with a small amount of marijuana. Elliot was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Elliott’s bond was set at $50,000.00 cash or professional and remains in custody at the Boone County Jail. Eldridge was booked on the outstanding warrant and has already bonded out of the Boone County Jail.Sheriff Hickman states that there may be other charges for Eldridge concerning the drugs.
