Sheriff Danny Hickman announced a 29 year old Omaha man was arrested Sunday, April 1st, after his office received a report of sexual assault.

Hickman said Cpl. David Upton initially responded to the call and took Roger L. Petty, Jr. into custody at the scene. Petty was taken to the Sheriff’s Department and during an interview conducted by Sergeant Marc Arnold, Petty admitted to having sexual contact with a minor on two separate occasions.

Petty has been charged with two counts of rape and remains in custody at the Boone County Jail. Bond was set at $75,000.00

Sheriff Danny Hickman announced today that his department is filing additional charges against Roger Petty, who is already being held at the Boone County Jail on two counts of Rape.

Petty, 29 years of age of the Omaha community was arrested on Sunday the 1st of April. One of the leads in the case indicated Petty had recorded his crimes on a cellular phone. With assistance from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office a forensic analysis of the phone pursuant to a search warrant was conducted. According to an affidavit filed by Sergeant Marc Arnold, two separate videos depicting sexual contact with a minor were found on the phone.

Petty was further charged with two counts of Producing a Sexual Performance by a Child in and an additional $25,000 bond was set for the charges bringing his total bond on all charges to $100,000.
