Sheriff Danny Hickman reports that the Boone County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Hudspeth Motor’s on Tuesday, December 4th, 2012, about two individuals who were attempting to purchase a vehicle. A salesman from Hudspeth Motors said he had received call from an Investigator in Green County Missouri after a credit report was run on the two individuals indicating that the identification they were using to purchase the vehicle with was false. The salesman at Hudspeth Motors then called 911 requesting an officer respond to the business.
When Deputies arrived, the two individuals fled the scene in a vehicle, striking another vehicle as they left. Deputies pursued the vehicle, and finally stopped the individuals at Kum and Go on US 65 South. The driver, later identified as Michael Warrick, 33 years old of Springfield Missouri, fled on foot from officers before being detained by Harrison Police Corporal Rodney Smith. The passenger, later identified as Diana Warrick, 31 years of age also from Springfield Missouri, was apprehended at the scene by Deputy David Upton.
It was determined by Investigator Corporal Jason Brisco and Greene County Investigator Brian Archer that both Warrick’s had been stealing other peoples identity and using that information to obtain property and credit cards. Numerous false identification cards, Driver’s Licenses, and fake checks were located in the vehicle. Michael Warrick was also in the possession of a loaded handgun and suspected methamphetamine at the time he was placed under arrest.
Agencies involved ranged from the Greene County Missouri Sheriff’s Office, Taney County Sheriff’s Office, Harrison Police Department and the United States Secret Service. Special Agents from the Secret Service will be looking at charging the Warrick’s with federal charges if there is sufficient evidence.
Michael Warrick is being charged on the state level with Criminal Attempt to Commit Theft, Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons , and Fleeing in a Vehicle. Warrick’s bond was set at $100,000.00 and he remains in custody at the Boone County Jail.
Diana Warrick is being charged on a state level with Possession of a Controlled Substance-Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Attempt to Commit Theft, and Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree. Diana’s bond was also set at $100,000.00 and she remains in custody at the Boone County Jail.
Holds from other agencies have also been placed on the Warrick’s once they are released from Boone County’s custody.
