On Thursday, September 19th, 2013 the Boone County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Bolin Hill Road. Arkansas Game and Fish Officers and Arkansas State Police Officers located the vehicle in the area of Old Bellefonte and when emergency lights were activated the suspect fled from officers in his vehicle. During the pursuit, the driver, later identified as 33 year old Jake Noblett, traveled in and out of oncoming traffic nearly striking several vehicles.
While Sgt. Richard Pemberton of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to deploy spike strips to stop the vehicle, Noblett came within inches of striking Sgt. Pemberton with his vehicle. The vehicle was stopped a short distance later and Noblett was taken into custody. Noblett faces charges of Criminal Attempt to Commit Capital Murder, Fleeing, DWI, Resisting Arrest, and numerous traffic charges. Noblett is currently being held at the Boone County Jail on a $500,000.00 bond.
Sheriff Moore and the Sheriff’s Department would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to Arkansas Game and Fish, Arkansas State Police and Harrison Police Department Officers for their assistance in the apprehension of this suspect.
