The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what has been deemed arson in Zinc on Sunday morning, June 8th. The two buildings serving as fire stations for the Zinc Volunteer Fire Department had both roofs blazing. Zinc Firefighters extinguished the fire saving most of their equipment but both roofs were a complete loss. There were no injuries as a result of the Fire. Investigator’s with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office conducted an origin and cause investigation and determined the fire was intentionally set.
The Boone County Rural Fire Association is offering a $500.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the fire. Anyone with information about the fire can call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at 870-741-8404.
