Boone County Sheriff Mike Moore will be offering a Junior Law Enforcement Training Academy to high school students in Boone County this summer. The program will instruct enrollees in law enforcement topics such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Law Enforcement Ethics
- Criminal law and procedure
- Criminal Justice system
- Search and Seizure
- Juvenile law
- Traffic law
- Health and fitness
- First aid
- Vehicle stop and approach
- Defensive tactics and handcuffing techniques
- Firearm safety
- Patrol techniques
- Criminal Investigation Procedures
If you are considering a career in law enforcement or just want to learn more about the duties, functions, and responsibilities of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, please consider attending this training.
We invite you to get a real, first hand, up close and personal look at how the Boone County Sheriff’s Office works, straight from the men and women who do the job. You will not find a better way to learn about YOUR Sheriff’s office and about the deputies who serve within this office.
Guest instructors will be part of the program and may include law enforcement officers from other agencies and other topic oriented speakers and instructors.
All Boone County High School students are invited to participate and must return the signed parent/guardian permission slip and waiver form and the enrollment form that can be accessed below.
This promises to be an exciting training that may help form our officers for the future! We want to extend our personal invitation to those young people interested in an experience they will never forget!
This program starts Monday, June 15th, 2015 and will end Friday, June 19. Training times are 10 am to 2 pm. The training will be held at the Bergman School campus.
