Ladies: Please consider attending this important training!!
All Boone County ladies are invited to attend, but the primary focus will be education for those females currently enrolled in college or those that will soon be enrolled and attending college.
Research from law enforcement officials and survivors of sexual assault have helped identify the most common attack strategies that a male assailant is likely to use in an assault of this nature.
You will learn essential strategies and techniques to use in such a situation if you decide to fight back. Techniques taught in this class are designed to aid a smaller person to escape and defeat a larger person. From hair-grabs and choke-holds, to bear hugs and weapon defenses, this program covers it all.
This class will be six (6) hours on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Start time is 9:00 am. There will be a lunch break. Class location is the Cash Center at the Harrison High School football field.
This course contains 3 steps:
- Learn the Attacker's Strategies - Classroom, Lecture/Video
- Learn the Techniques to Defeat the Attacker - Techniques taught are divided into segments for learning ease and each person can complete at their own pace.
- Develop Your Reflexes and Learn to Keep Them Active - Learn techniques then participate in Reflex Development Drills to combine what is learned to address the most common real self-defense situations
