The Sheriff’s Angel Tree is up and ready! We have several names left on the tree that have not been picked. County schools have submitted over 100 children in need this year and at least half of those names have been taken.
Each year the Sheriff’s Office sponsors an angel tree consisting of teenage children from the County, along with any siblings in that family. Those names are obtained through the school counselor at each rural school district.
Children are identified by number and items they need or would like are placed on the tree in the Sheriff’s Office Lobby at 5800 Law Drive. Citizens may come and take a number, sign them out on the sheet provided, buy whatever on the list they choose and then return those to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies and Reserve Deputies deliver those gifts in time for Christmas.
So, come on by and pick up an angel or two and help make this a wonderful time for our kids!
We wish to express our profound gratitude to you for your participation and support in our efforts in helping the older children of Boone County to have a Merry Christmas. Without your invaluable assistance, this would not be possible and my wish for you is to wake Christmas morning knowing that you have made a child’s day and brought a smile to their face.
