Murder Suspect Apprehended

On 01/26/2017 Sheriff Mike Moore of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department reported that 36 year old Matthew Jay Bolen was taken into custody for a murder investigation being conducted by the Harrison Police Department. Moore said two of his investigators and Special Agent Buster Rinks with the Arkansas State Police apprehended the suspect after the suspect called a Boone County Investigator asking to turn himself in.  Officers with the Sheriff’s Department and other agencies have been working on the apprehension of Bolen since the investigation began and have been searching the area that included property owned by family members and friends of the suspect.  Moore added that the Sheriff’s Department utilized the Arkansas Bloodhound Alliance and the Arkansas State Police helicopter in attempts to locate Bolen.  Bolen was taken into custody at his father’s residence on Wind Rock Lane without incident and transported to the Harrison Police Department. Moore stated, “It’s good to have agencies working together and we appreciate the resources and efforts received from the Arkansas State Police, The U.S. Marshall Service, Arkansas Game and Fish, Arkansas Bloodhound Alliance and the Harrison Police department.”
