Bear Creek Church Bus Theft / Arrest

Sheriff Moore reports that on 07/19/2017 Boone County Deputies were able to apprehend Carl Wayne Richardson 40 years old of Harrison after a chase with him on a stolen four-wheeler.  Richardson was identified as the suspect on the church bus theft that occurred on July 13th in Boone County.  Investigators were able to establish that Richardson was involved in that case in which he utilized the van on additional thefts that included a reported stolen camper from Taney Co. Missouri.  The Christian County Sheriff’s Department was involved in a pursuit with Richardson in the stolen van on July 16th but was able to avoid apprehension.  Richardson was then responsible for a following theft of a Susuki Sidekick which was eventually recovered near Forysth, MO.  Richardson was then spotted yesterday evening during a reported rollover accident on Denning Road in Boone County.  Richardson fled the accident scene in which the vehicle was found to have been stolen from the Reed Springs area.  While officers were searching for Richardson in the area he managed to take a large water truck from APAC near Bear Creek Springs.  Richardson drove the truck through fences in the area and eventually wrecked it in a creek.  Richardson was eventually apprehended by Boone County Deputies and State Police after he took a four wheeler from a local resident.

Investigators have been able to link a number of additional thefts that Richardson is involved with both in Missouri and Arkansas.  Richardson, who was just released from prison 8 months ago for similar acts, is currently behind held in the Boone County Jail without bond.  His charges consists of 4 counts of theft of property, 2 counts theft by receiving, breaking or entering, 2 counts of fleeing, and a probation violation.
