On November 6, 2017, the Boone County Sheriff’s Department was notified about a male student at the Bergman School, 18 year old Steven Goings, threatening to shoot three Bergman School Officials. While having a conversation with one his teachers, Goings became upset and threatened to get a gun and shoot the Bergman School Resource Officer, Principle, and the Superintendent if he got suspended from the school once more. During an interview with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Goings admitted he had threatened to kill all three school officials. Goings was arrested and charged with three felony counts of Communicating a Death Threat Concerning a School Official. Goings was released from the Boone County Jail after posting a $3,000.00 bond.
